Apparel Designing

Unschooled women, with little experience in life skills, are taughttailoring skills that help them earn their livelihood and live a life of dignity. Many needy women have learnt such skills and are now supporting their families.

  • Tailoring: These tailoring units have a trainer that teaches about 10-15 women. They are taught basics of cloth cutting and stitching using sewing machines. After completion of the hand-on training, they start independent entrepreneurship with DEW helping them find markets for products like school uniforms.
  • Designing: once adept in tailoring, they are advanced to more intricate clothing designing to fashion trends catering to higher end customers.
  • Fabric Arts and Crafts: In this various art works are taught that can be used in various clothing such as sparkle, bead fitting, lace arrangements for making marketable, attractive and beautiful stoles.
