Only 2-3% of women living in rural India use disposable sanitary napkins. The remaining resort to alternatives such as old cloth or newspapers, ashes, husks or sand. 75% of adolescent girls experience menstrual dysfunctions which affect their normal daily chores and incidence of Reproductive Tract Infection (RTI).
